Okay, this will be my last post in my film blog! So sad. Anyway, I think what I want to talk about is something I have been thinking about a lot lately...music. Recently, I started to notice how important it is to have appropiate music in a film. I realized this by watching how other movies have been choosing to use their music, and seeing first-hand how well it works. I always had thought that the soundtrack to a film was just using megahits whenever they could in order to sell soundtracks. However, if you look at movies like Sunshine and Moon (two of my favorites), they have composers creating these epic pieces of music that accompany and add so much to the film itself. I'm not trying to say this is anything new, I am just noticing it more now.
I think all in all, that is what I like so much about films. It takes different people with totally different skills to complete a job, and make it work out great. Whether you act, direct, produce, promote, write, work with lighting, sound, are a studio exec. or are even creating the music...it all has to work. Everyone has to come together, with their individual talents, and do their best. Once these pieces add up, they equal one film. It's all just so cool to me. Well, I think that's it for me. Thanks for reading!!

Indies Vs. Blockbusters
Okay, I've been having this debate with a friend of mine for a while now. Which is the better category for movies to be made in? Do you like the clever ways in which independant films work around their smaller budgets, or would you rather check out a blockbuster with awesome effects and a budget that is insanely high. Personally, I gotta go with the indies. There's no better feeling then stumbling along some awesome indy film on netflix or something like that. I am not trying to say that just because a film has a high budget means that it is no good. BUT, I think indies are usually more cleverly put together to hide their lack of budget and don't follow certain stereotypes that some blockbusters do. What are your opinions on this one?

Dude...I'm Pumped
Okay, I am like, two hours away from seeing X-men: First Class and I am PUMPED. Lately, I feel like I have been watching all my movies through my t.v. or my computer. There is definitely something awesome and extraordinary about actually going to the movies that you just don't get from watching movies downloaded on your computer. Maybe I just like spending 11 dollars for ticket and 7 dollars for a bag of popcorn? But for some reason, I just don't think that's it. Whatever the reason, I feel like no matter what, I'm always going to be the guy that just loves going to the movies. It makes having bad dates bearable and gives at least a purpose to those rainy days. Seriously though, rainy days are the pits, am I right? But I digress. Go to the movie theater some time soon, odds are you just forgot how awesome it was.
